The Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman 2014 EXCEL Award

The honorees for the Center's Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman 2014 EXCEL (Excellence in Chief Executive Leadership) Award were announced and recognized at the Center's 35th Annual Celebration on November 18, at The Washington Post.

The 2014 EXCEL Award Honorees are:

Michelle Asha Cooper of Institute for Higher Education Policy
Bonnie Fogel
of Imagination Stage
Dr. Sylisa Lambert-Woodard of Pathway Homes, Inc.

Honorable Mentions
Valarie Ashley of Southeast Ministry
Peter Holden of New Horizons Supported Services, Inc.

Each winner receives a $5,000 professional development account to use in their role as an organization's chief executive. In addition, the winning organization receives a $2,000 grant to provide professional development opportunities for their staff.

2014 was the tenth year for this competition, and the ninth year that the Bethesda-based accounting firm Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman sponsored the award.
